What To Expect When You Hire Krumwiede Home Pros

It Is Definitely No Accident That Our Customers Rave About Our Professionalism – We Planned It That Way

Do you know why there are so many home remodeling nightmare stories out there?

The root problem is a lack of professionalism in the home remodeling industry. To many guys think a truck, a mobile phone, and some tools is enough to run a business.

The sad truth is most home remodeling contractors have absolutely no process or professionally trained staff to make a project go smoothly.

Everything is handled “on the fly” and you can pretty much guess how that will end up 9 times out of 10. It’s why there is so much miscommunication and disappointment with home remodeling projects.

Here’s What Makes The Difference When You Hire Krumwiede Home Pros

If you go to Google Reviews and read what our customers say about us online, you’ll probably notice that A LOT of the reviews mention our professionalism. That’s no accident – we have a professional process that is completely planned out.

Here’s the recipe for our success:

  • We have a true team (not a bunch of temporary laborers)
  • We have a real office (not just a truck and a mobile phone)
  • And we have a proven process to make sure projects go smoothly (and a way to handle issues if they do come up)

Here’s what you can expect when you hire Krumwiede Home Pros

  1. A customer service representative will give you Our Welcome Aboard Call the day after you made your purchase to guide you on the next steps and answer any questions.
  2. Within 48 hours, a team member from our Production Department will call you with approximate installation dates. They’ll also schedule a pre-job inspection within a few days of your purchase if needed. If not needed, they just go over the contract and finance details.
  3. If a pre-job inspection is necessary, our experts will visit to double-check everything important. We verify everything from colors to measurements, and also make sure things like financing and other paperwork are done correctly.
  4. During the installation, our craftsmen will work on your project and treat your home with respect. Our installers have a daily jobsite cleanup routine, and a more thorough cleanup routine upon completion of the job. As your projects move along, we may have project managers stopping by to check on the progress of the job. Representatives of our marketing team may stop by to take some pictures and reviews.
  5. The job is NOT considered complete until the foreman or production manager walks the job with YOU and makes sure every promise in the contract has been fulfilled and the clean-up is to your satisfaction. Please be available that day!
  6. A few days after your project is done, our installation survey coordinator will call you to ask how we did from start to finish.
  7. If we’ve earned it, we’d love for you to consider leaving us a happy online review and refer us to others. Many of our customers also get a picture with our 100% satisfied sign.

And What You Can Expect From Most Other Contractors In The Chicagoland Suburbs? NONE OF THE ABOVE

We’re not trying to badmouth all other home improvement companies in the Chicagoland suburbs – there are some other quality companies out there.

But you deserve to know the truth: the majority of contractors don’t worry about any of the above steps – they have no thought-out process at all.

Even the ones that do have some kind of process don’t have the ‘start-to-finish, nothing-is-overlooked’ process of Krumwiede Home Pros.

Want proof? Our customers are happy to leave us positive 5-star reviews that frequently mention our communication and professionalism.

(For more on our reviews, please visit our article How Much Should Online Reviews Matter When Choosing A Chicagoland Suburbs Home Improvement Company?).

What To Expect From Us If Something Goes Wrong

Even with all our processes, we’d love to tell you that nothing ever goes wrong. But, of course, we’re human and we do occasionally have problems come up.

Here’s where we further separate ourselves from other contractors. Many home remodeling companies are more comfortable ducking calls and telling you “we’ll come take a look at it when we have a chance” than they are in solving an issue.

We take the EXACT opposite approach. Problems here are treated as an ‘all-hands on deck’ situation. Our production department springs into action and gets the right team members in place to take care of any issues with a fast, appropriate response.

Ready To Start The Process?

It’s easy to get started – just get on our schedule and we’ll come talk to you about your project. We give free quotes in the Chicagoland suburbs for the following projects: windows, kitchen cabinet re-styling, roofing, siding, doors, and gutters.

Our quotes are good for one full year, which means there’s no pressure on you and you have time to plan and budget. We make it easy!

Do You Suspect That Most Home Remodeling Warranties Are B.S.?

You’re Right.

Expect To Dance The ‘Warranty Waltz’ With Most Contractors And Manufacturers

Not many home remodeling contractors will talk about it, but the truth is most warranties have WAY too many loopholes, exclusions, and fine print.

Homeowners are often skeptical about home improvement warranties and think a lot of them are B.S. – because so many are.

The 4 Most Common Excuses For Not Honoring A Home Improvement Warranty

There are some surprisingly common “reasons” for denying warranty claims. Here are the 4 homeowners hear the most:

Warranty Excuse #1: Workmanship Is Not Covered

Often times when you start having a problem with a home improvement product (like windows, roofing, siding, etc.), the manufacturer will tell you the problem is not with the product, it’s with the installation.

And since most manufacturer warranties do NOT cover workmanship, you’ll be told you’re out of luck.

Even worse, the manufacturer will sometimes go so far as to tell you that improper installation voids the warranty altogether.

Warranty Excuse #2: Declining Coverage

Many times homeowners are told they have “lifetime” warranty coverage, but when you read the fine print you find out that the true amount of the coverage actually declines significantly over time.

So while technically it may be a “lifetime” warranty, the truth is that in most cases you’ll actually only get reimbursed for a small percentage of the cost of the claim. These pro-rated warranties can leave you with a big bill if something needs repaired or replaced.

Warranty Excuse #3: Too Many Loopholes

Another issue with these warranties is how much fine print they have. Because of the legalistic language, a manufacturer basically can usually find a reason to deny a claim if they want to – and they often do.

Warranty Excuse #4 The ‘Warranty Waltz’ (Also Known A Finger-Pointing)

Here is probably the most common experience of them all. Let’s say you have a problem with something installed by a local contractor here in the Chicagoland suburbs. Your first call is likely going to be to the contractor that installed it. Then, after you explain the issue, most of the time the contractor tells you to call the manufacturer.

So then you call the manufacturer. You fight through a phone tree to finally talk to a person, and most of the time they will blame the installation and tell you to call the contractor.

So begins the ‘Warranty Waltz’ – where everyone dances you around, but no one actually seems to want to take responsibility. You’ll ping-pong back and forth and the sad truth is that most of the time the homeowners give up out of frustration.

Krumwiede Home Pros Is Different

Our approach is the opposite: we WANT you to call US if there’s an issue with any product we’ve installed on your home. We’ll come out and inspect the problem.

If it has ANYTHING to do with our workmanship, we just take care of it. We guarantee all our workmanship for as long as you’re in your home.

If it’s a product defect, we’ll work with the manufacturer to resolve the issue – you won’t be passed around in the ‘Warranty Waltz’ with us. In other words, we take care of it without finger-pointing.

And our reputation demonstrates that you can trust what we say: we’ve been in business for 68+ years, have an A+ rating with the BBB, and have lots of great online reviews.

We Benefit, Too

You might ask – why would we do this? Does it really make any business sense for us to offer such a strong lifetime guarantee?

Well, even if it didn’t, we still believe in being honest (we like to sleep well at night!).

But the truth is it’s also good business. We have a lot of different products and services, and we want to earn more of your business with the other products we offer. We know if we stand behind everything we do, you’re more likely to call us again for a new project in the future.

In short, when you do the right thing, everyone wins.

Do We Sound Like Your Kind Of Company?

Poor Attic Ventilation causes Ice Damming

Upon inspecting this homeowner’s attic, which we do at every roof estimate appointment, our project consultant noticed insulation stuffed into the soffit vents.  This issue of the lack of ventilation is the reason you see large amounts of icicles hanging from home’s gutters.  Although it is quite the spectacle, this is the result of scary things lurking below the roof, in the attic.  We can also see the discoloration at the eaves (dark color on the wood).  This is just one more reason to hire a knowledgable contractor and roofer to complete your project.  As we can see with this simple example, these exterior projects can be expensive and even more costly if not done correctly!

Commercial TPO Roof in Rosemont

This property owner contacted us after his warehouse ceiling began to leak and he had many areas of pooling water, as seen in these pictures.  His roof had been repaired many times to no avail and it was time to re-roof the entire surface with TPO (Thermal Plastic Polyolefin) Roofing Systems from GAF.  The size of the TPO roll is so large that is allows for barely any seams to be present on the roof, unlike previous modified commercial roofing systems.  The white color of the TPO allows for temperatures to be better regulated, saving you money!  Now, this homeowner has piece of mind that not only is his roof new and improved, he has a 20 year warranty.
